The series takes place in France during World War II and tells the story of René, the owner of a small café. He has a lot of work to do in his café and besides he tries to make his wife happy, but has affairs with all of his waitresses, tries to please the German forces who come to his café and organizes an underground operation for the resistance. His café becomes the meeting point of the German military and the French resictance.
