In 1943, Klaus Hartung, a private of the German “Wehrmacht”, is positioned at the east front during World War Two. After nearly having lost his life in a dangerous mission, a Russian patrol gets hold of him during an observing mission. Afterwards he gets detained in a prison camp, where he decides to henceforth fight the war by agreeing to abduct a German officer in team with two Russians. The undertaking becomes a suicide squad, but over the course the three abductors overbear their mutual prejudices.
