Master Sergeant Johann Eschen was one of the first German soldiers sent to Kosovo in 1999. His location was Suvareka. On their way the men find destroyed villages and a people suffering under the influences of war.
One day on a exploration through the village of Topilo in the mountains the soldiers meet a young pregnant woman in labour, who has difficulties with childbirth.
Escher, father of a family himself, orders a helicopter and a doctor, but nobody can come. So he transports the young woman down himself. The woman and her child can be rescued in the last moment.

Six months later Eschen leaves the Kosovo. He is proud that he could save these two lives and often thinks about the little girl and how she might develop and live.
He wants to go back to Kosovo to find out about the destiny of the child.
The film accompanies the now 39-year-old man to the conflict area.
