The popular master-workman Bonicke has to quit service in the air base after an injury.
After a conflict between L.C. Fritz and Robert, Fritz argues Robert into a dangerous flight-maneuver, that causes an emergency landing. Both L.C.s get an aircraft-ban. Bonicke disables it. Above the north-sea, Fritz and Robert have to take another emergency landing. Bonicke searches them with an old aircraft, a Focker registrated as D III 8. He is able to lead a ship to Fritz and Robert, but in the process he loses life.
