This drama documents the downfall of Germany between April 20th and Mai 2nd 1945. The German Reich, that was supposed to exist thousand years, endet with brutality and fire. The capital Berlin, where Hitler sat in his shelter, was the central point of the fighting. During people were fighting on the streets, Hitler commited suicide in the shelter. The film shows the destiny of single people and draws an authentic picture of the last days of the Reich with the help of Interviews of Germans and Russians and material from the archives.
