In nazi-occupied Denmark, a group of upper-class schoolboys form a gang devoted to resistance against the occupying forces. At first they do not go any further than putting up posters and steeling German soldiers' helmets. But then they meet Otto Hvidmann, a lower-class boy who steals weapons from the Germans. Soon their game turns deadly serious.

The film is based on the true story of a group of Danish private-school boys who formed their own Resistance cell, which went under the name of "the Churchill Club." They operated in the provincial city of Aalborg and fought the German Nazis wherever and whenever they could, inspiring their elders to begin doing the same.
