plot synopsis:
This film takes place during World War I and deals with a wealthy French farming family. Bernard Lefrançois, the fateher of the familiy interferes with the lives of his sons before the war breakes out. Later he regrets this, because one of them is shot on the battlefield. Because of a gunfire Bernard Lefrançois becomes sightless. His second son marries a girl, who became pregnant of the other son before he died.
