Carl Hansen is a weather operator working with the U.S. air patrol off the coast of Iceland. is His superiors suspect him being a Nazi spy because of his uncanny ability to predict when the next Allied ship will be sunk by a German U-Boat. To prove his innocence, Hansen volunteers to ride with a pilot to rescue some British children and their nanny who have been stranded at sea. When the pilot is wounded, Hansen is forced to land the plane without landing gear, saving the children. This event really throws suspicion on Hansen because no one knew he could fly a plane and his superiors assume he was keeping it a secret. As it turns out, one of the children Hansen rescues is actually a Nazi cabin boy who is to make contact with a fishing boat/spy ship to provide them with the necessary information to sink more Allied ships. Hansen discovers this and becomes a hero when he prevents the disaster and helps sink the spy vessel.
