plot synopsis:
In 1942, as the german troops are getting nearer to Stalingrad, a sowjet reconnaissance troop is being sent to the banks of Volga to prepare a landing for larger troops. They find sheter in a house that is also sheltering some civilians. As the germans try to occupy the building, the german commander falls in love with the sowjet woman Masha who couldn't escape in time.
