Adam and his two comrades return to the United States after an Iraq mission and celebrate. With all her unprocessed war experiences, they initially stumble optimistically into their old life with their families and friends. However, it quickly becomes clear that it will not be easy for them to get back into normal civil society. Adam suffers from a post-traumatic stress disorder, which manifests itself in the form of nightmares and flashbacks. He seeks psychological help and struggles to get his life under control again. Even his former comrades have problems and everyone has to find his own way to deal with it. The film tells the story of many American war returnees who are struggling to get along in their normal lives. It shows how important cohesion, mutual support and professional help are in such cases.
