plot synopsis:
An American news writer interviews the captain of the USS Bedford on his destroyer. But then he gets involved into a hard fight in the nothern Atlantic. The captain of the destroyer starts a fight with a Soviet submarine. Soon the crewmen are psychologically shaken and an accident happens. This leads to a confrontation no one wanted to happen.
