plot synopsis:
Josef Schwejk, a dog-trader in Prague, though a foolish and naiv person bravely manages his everyday life. Through his wit, his bluntness and his cunning he survives the First World War without a scratch. The naive Schwejk is constantly at loggerheads with bureacracy, the state's despotism and militarism always exposing them as ridiculous postures with his straightforwardness.
