plot synopsis:
The documentation illustrates the drastic consequences of the war in Iraq which now last for four year and is still not finished. Every day the wounded of the war arrive at the US hospital in Landstuhl near Kaiserslautern. It is the biggest military hospital in Europe. More than 8.000 soldiers who were wounded in battle were medicated in Landstuhl since the beginning of the war in March 2003. The medical airlift between Landstuhl and the Iraq is essential for the 160.000 american Soldiers who are based in Iraq. In the night the big air ambulances are starting in Iraq with direction Ramstein/ Germany. From Ramstein thex were transported by medical buses to the near hospital in Landstuhl.
The ARD reporters Ashwin Raman and Kai Diezemann were able to film in Germany but either in American hospitals in Iraq. They were able to talk to medics, attendants and soldiers in duty. Exclusive pictures and a spectacular film about the war in Iraq arose from this progress.
