Until 1940 Norway was mostly spared by World War Two, but Great Britain as well as Germany were looking for the important strategic points near the ice sea and Hitler begins the military action "Weserübung". The war happenings are easy to reconstruct in the high north.
The authors of this documentary follow the tracks of Austrian mountain infantrists from the Alps up to the polar circle and talk to contemporary witnesses. Moreover the film contains many original shots.
