plot synopsis:
In the last weeks of the Second World War the crew of a Sherman tank is sent behind the enemy lines. The crew consists of five men and is led by Staff Sergeant Don “Wardaddy” Collier. As the only recruit in the group the inexperienced Norman Ellison has a hard time handling the extreme violence he is confronted with. But the further they protrude in the area of the German Reich the more dangerous it gets for the whole troop. As their tank is destroyed by a mine the little group has to face an approaching unit of the Waffen SS which consists of 300 men.
