This film takes place during World War II and deals with the Italian secret agent Riccardo Cloro, who travels to Graz, dressed up as Swiss businessman. When he meets the Czech Jew Rada in the train, he has to choose between his mission as spy and a love affair. But his mission to kill the head of the Czech resistance movement means more to him. The Gestapo officer Müller is on the same mission. When this man suspects Rada to be an agent and starts a brutal interrogation, Cloro starts to doubt his ideals.
