The German Communist Fred Laurenz serves in the Legion Condor at the time of the Spanish Civil War. He manages to get hold of the secret formula of a poison gas (tabun). He flees to give the formel to the responsible authorities. However, he is arrested by the Francoist soldiers. After all, he can flee again during the transport.
