plot synopsis:
France at the time of World War II: In 1941, a German officer is assassinated in Nantes. Since those responsible are able to escape, Hitler commands to shoot 150 French hostages to retaliate, including the seventeen-year-old Guy Môquet, arrested for distributing handbills. The story is told from the point of view of the German soldier, who has to obey the execution, Ernst Jünger, who has to write a secret report by order of a military commander, and from the angle of Môquet himself.
