What remains, if the war is over and the media starts looking fornew theatre? Director Eduard Erne tries answer this question as he follows young Indira Berisha back to her homeland in Kosovo and accompanies her to the sites of her former horror. In spring 1999 Indira and her family had to flee. She wrote down what she experienced, all the brutalities and humiliations they had to bear in a diary.
In the film memories, scenes from the present and excerpts of her diary are put togetherforming a chronicle of expulsion. "I am slowly losing myself", she wrote in a Macedonian refugee camp in April 1999. "If the soul can be touched by something, would my soul feel anything?"
Erne accompanies Indira as she returns to her nativa village in 2000, where she is searching for her father. The family's attempt to start a new life are constrasted with memories of the war. Memories that make clear, that war is not over once it is over.
