plot synopsis:
In the midst of the cold war the head of british intelligence, Control, is forced to resign after a secret operation in Hungary goes wrong. That operation was designed to identify a mole in the intelligence service. Smiley, who had to resign along with Control, is reactivated and now supposed to find out who the mole is.
