plot synopsis:
In 1945, during the second worldwar, american and english prisoners, arrested in the japanese POW Camp at the river Kwai in Thailand, should become deported to Japan, to work in a rigfactory.
The japanese soldiers exploit conflicts between the imprisoners for their sadistic methods.
The deportation goes through the thai jungle to Saigon, where they continue the way by a cargo ship. But the prisoners have to escape befor they arrive in Japan.
The movie is based on historic based facts.
