plot synopsis:
This documentary deals with the last days before Hitler's downfall and the life of his close confidants in the shelter under the Imperial chancellery in Berlin. Witnesses tell the true story till to the suicide of Hitler on April 30th 1945. Historians and Hitler specialists analyse the events in the shelter and make a virtual walk through the rooms possible. They analyse the psyche of the dictator, who wanted "all or nothing" until to the bitter end. His last days are marked by depression and illness. He flees into the fictious world of the shelter and blames the german people for the defeat.

The film reveals shootings, murders and grotesque marriages, that take place in the last days in the shelter. Besides the interviews of witnesses the documentary is based on a dossier refound in Moskau, that was written by the Russsian secret service in 1949. This dossier is based on reports about interrogations of Hitler's personal adjutant Otto Güsche and his valet Heinz Linge.
