The film deals with the battle at El Alamein in 1942, in which the Germans were beaten by the British troops. Thousands of dead people were left in the desert. The landscape is shaped by the war until today and mines have not jet been removed. On military graveyards and in mausoleums the German, British and Italian victims are remembered. Today the area profits of the building boom at the coast near Alexandria. The film deals with the old and with the new El Alamein. It tries to reconstruct the story of the lonely place nobody would know without World War II.
