In this film an old car tells its story and experiences with its different owners. Seven episodes reflect about the car drivers: Political or racial victims, resistance fighters and people affected by war. The film tries to show the positive behaviour of single people during wartime. The atmosphere of the time serves to define what makes a human being and what is humanity.
