Ostensibly the copnflict between Iran and the US seems to be about the nuclear programme of Iran, but actually it is about the power and influence in the Middle East. The US and Iran took positions which do not leave space for compromise and the attitudes are unchangable.
General Mohammed Jafari, deputy leader of the national security council in Iran declared: "Everyone, who attacks us, will be sorry." Allegedly Jafari had trained terrorists in Iran and got the target of an American razzia, but he escaped.
On the other side in Washington the 'Hawks' cried out for an invasion into Iran.
This documentary shows, how both sides dramatise the situation. Teheran supports terrorists in Iraq and the US strengthens the extremist MEK, a part of the Mujaheddin, to weaken the country. One thesis of this film is that the course of confrontation of Washington and the invasion into Iraq led to the weakening of the reforming powers in Iran and the takeover of Ahmadineschad. The Iran expert Hillary Mann argues that only the disaster in Iraq prevented American troops from entering Iran.
