plot synopsis:
The film takes place in Beirut in 1983 during the civil war and deals with the 12-year-old Lina, who belongs to a rich arabian familiy of christians from the middle-class. The civil war, as well as her own familiy makes her suffer. Her mother despairs of the gambling addiction of Linas father. Also her grandmother doesn't accept to pay for her son any longer and tyrannizes the whole family. Linas days are influenced by discussions about the civil war, as well as about the gambling of her father. As the only child in the family Lina feels unnoticed and rebels against her father.
