plot synopsis:
In 1918 the french soldier Anthelme Mangin returns home from captivity. But he is not abled to remember his past. The media is interested in his story and publishes pictures of him in some french newspapers in 1922. A marathon in court starts because several poeple recognized him as a relevant. But he can't remember anything and his identity never is clarified. He dies in 1942, lonesome and poor.
