plot synopsis:
Scarlett O’Harra, the spoiled daughter of an upper class family in the southern States, has no sorrows. She is wealthy, young and beautyful and lives on the splendid estate Tara. But one thing is missing for her happiness: The love of the young Ashley Wilkes.
He fell in love with the tender Melanie Wilkinson and all efforts of Scarlett are in vain: They want to marry. At the beginning Scarlett ignores the attempts of the arrogant Reth Buttler, a man with a doubtful reputation, to gain her heart. But then her world breaks down with the beginning of the Civil War between south and north. Ashley must go into war and Scarlett has to pull herself and her people through the confusions of the Amarican Civil War whilst Buttler goes on trying to gain the vivacious Scarlett. One day she responds to his court. Not without ulterior motives...
