plot synopsis:
The film, directed by successful director Samuel Maoz, deals with the crisis of the parents of a soldier killed in the Lebanese war. The death message from 19-year-old Jonathan brings the parents into a catastrophic situation that is full of grief and anger and leads to the separation of the parents. When it is announced that Jonathan is still alive, Michael makes sure that he is sent back home. But Jonathan actually dies on the way home this time. Before he died as a result of an accident, he had killed four innocent people at the checkpoint. One learns in a scene that Michael also has a war-related secret.
A young soldier, Michael and old people in the retirement home dance the couple dance Foxtrot in three different scenes. One always comes back to the starting point in the foxtrot dancing. The critical attitude against the warfare of Israel finds its expression in these scenes.
For this reason, the reception of the film was largely controversial. After all, the film won the Grand Prix of the Jury (Silver Lion) at the 2017 International Film Festival in Venice
