In 1923 he is born in Warschau and flees with his familiy to France in 1930. In 1944 he is deported to Auschwitz and survives only because of denying his jewish belief. In 2002 he publishes his experiences in the concentration camp in the book "C'est en hiver que les jours rallongent". In the film this evidence of a survivor is read by an actor and shows the brutal life in the camp.
