plot synopsis:
The attractive sowjet defector Anna crashes with her plane on an american airbase. The commander Jim Shannon is supposed to seduce her to gain information from her, but he falls in love with her and they marry without permission in order to protect her from being deportet. After their honeymoon Jim learns that she is a spy who is supposed to be put in Jail and later deportet. He escapes with her and an american airplane that he later crashes in the sowjet union. Anna who is now pregnant is being criticised by her superiors for letting Jim crash the airplane; she argues that his information will be more valuable than the plane. Jim is being used as a test pilot and is later supposed to be drugged into insensibility. Anna flees together with him back to America.

The film got poor reviews yet is said to be Howard Hughes favorite movie that even later in his life he watched quite often.
