Winter 1943. For a young couple of a small village it is the day of their marriage. On the very next day the groom wants to join the partisans in the mountains. When the weeding party wades through the snow to the next village they come across a wounded partisan messenger. Amidst the happy toast of the party the bridegroom sets out to take the wounded partisan to his destination.
