plot synopsis:
Franz Jägerstätter, an Austrian farmer and orthodox catholic, speaks out openly against the nationalsocialist regime and refuses to serve in the German army. After declining all offers to be saved if he only revokes his testimony, he is imprisoned in a military prison near Berlin and executed with a guillotine in August 1943.
