»Sos labribiancos«, in English: »those with white lips« means »the forgotten«. It is a group of poor people from a small, remote (and fictitious) village in Sardinia. The film tells the story of a group of men captured in snow-covered Russia during World War II. The former hunger and misery in their hometown became a sweet memory in comparison to the madness of the "white front". Cold, loneliness and hunger drive the young soldiers in the hard, Russian prison camp gradually into despair, madness and finally to death.
