plot synopsis:
The film “Burn Country” is about Osman, a former Afghan translator who seeks refuge in the USA. He is granted asylum in California and begins working as a reporter for a local newspaper. He faces the challenge of finding his way in a new culture and society while dealing with the aftermath of his traumatic experiences back home.
In the course of the film, Osman is confronted with local conflicts and secrets that he reports on, putting him in danger.the film deals with themes such as flight, adapting to a new society, trauma and the moral challenges of journalism.
