plot synopsis:
This documentary tells the stories of three women who had to escape from East Prussia and Silesia during the Second World War: Anita Motzkus, today 67 years old, from a farmer's family, who lived for years as a feral child, Vera von Lehndorff, 67 as well, member of a noble family from East Prussia and Elisabeth Baroness von Maltzan, today 93 years old, from Silesia.

The traumata from the past are heavy: experiences from the war, the feeling of guilt and shame have long been forgotten and repressed. About twelve million people had to leave their homes and fell victim to the process of migration enforced by the Nazis.

In the meantime the war lies back over 60 years, but still the experiences with violence and the loss of their home shape the lives of the three different women.

The search for identity, new existence and affiliation influence the lives of the families up to the third generation.

Christian Wagner, the director, manages to demonstrate the ways of these three women and their reconciliation with the past.
