This documentary deals with German Foreign Legionaires in war in Indochina. After the end of World War II in 1945, France starts a colonial war against the vietnamese liberation movement Viet Minh, to get the power over the colonies in Indochina. The French Foreign Legion consists of 80 percent of Germans and Austrians, most of them without any perspective in life. They fight in a war, that changes ideologies and starts a worldwide political debate. The war ends in 1954 in the battle of Dien Bien Phu. The French, beaten by the Viet Minh, leave Indochina. The Country is devided into North and South Vietnam, a fact that later causes the Vietnam war.
