In 1966, Ernesto Che Guevara, originally argentinic, now cuban, wants to spread the communist revolution into the world according to his ideology. After an unsuccesful coup attempt in Congo, he now focused on Latin America, which was in cubans close sphere of influence. He made bolivia his country of choice, since every other country in that area seemed unsuited because of their internal and foreign politics.
The movie tracks the guerilla war in bolivia from Ches landing as an urugayan businessman up till his being captured and execution in 1967 according to Che GUevaras diaries and presents the hard times of a guerilla war, the diseases and the isolation in Bolivia.
