plot synopsis:
After his father brings disgrace on the family, Monte joins the Spanish-American War and is sent with his regiment to the Philippines. Although he has his girlfriend Claire at home he starts a romance with Roma, who knows the whereabout of Philippnine leader Aguinaldo. Finally Monte gets the information he needed but is called a deserter and has to prove his mettle on the battlefield. In the end the insurrection is defeated and Monte can explain everything to Claire and the two are reunited.
