This documentary deals with the sinking of the cruiser USS Indianapolis by an Japanese submarine in July 1945. Indianapolis was on the return from a secret mission: The cruiser delivered parts for the atomic bomb to be dropped on Hiroshima to an U.S. airbase in the Pacific. Shortly after discharging an completing the mission, two Japanese torpedoes hit the ship. It sank quickly and only about 900 of the about 1,200 men on board managed to escape. Out of these 900, only 321 could be rescued four days later, because of dehydration, injuries and shark attacks. The documentary focuses on the shark attacks.
