plot synopsis:
1986: Only a few days prior to the meeting of US president Reagan and Soviet general secretary Gorbatchev a Soviet submarine becomes incontrollable after a collision with an American submarine. The crew desperately attemps to stop a fire in the missile silos. An accidental lunch might wipe all major cities on the US East coast and could cause a nuclear inferno in the rest of the country.
