This documentary is a belated "making of" of a propaganda movie from 1944. In November 1944 Joseph Goebbels gave director Wolfgang Liebenheimer the order to make a propaganda movie. "Life Goes On" was supposed to be an epos to keep on fighting. The roles were played by stars and the scenery of the destroyed Berlin was built up in Babelsberg. But the movie never was finished and is missing until today. The documentary works with material from the archives and the statements of witnesses. It reconstructs the absurd genesis of the last propaganda movie of the UFA and the last days of World War II.
