In 1945, some young soldiers will be sent to a basic training of the U.S. Army to Biloxi in Mississippi. The group gets the instructor Sgt Toomey assigned, known for its harassment against the soldiers. So he steals money from an abandoned wallet, only to teach his soldiers the lesson that they can’t leave their wallets, wherever they want. The main character, Eugene Jerome, gets to know the hardness of the war, learns how to accept his comrades as they are, fells in love with a girl and had his first sex traffic with a prostitute. Despite the trouble with their trainer, the group missed Sgt Toomey, as he transferred to a veterans hospital. At the end of the film, the over- voice of Jerome tells us what happened to him and his comrades after the war.
