After the Lebanese boy Laid saw his parents get killed in a terrorist attack, he become the willing instrument of a fundamentalist underground movement. In a secret guerilla camp he receives the adequate ideological and military training. At the age of eleven he is send to Paris to help prepare an assasination attempt on the French president. But his camouflage is only halfway complete, since he is in fact fluent in French but knows only little French boys of his age. Therefore Karim, who was raised in Paris, is forcibly borrowed from his father. Although the fun loving, Westernized Karim is the complete opposite of Laid, the two boys become friends.
