plot synopsis:
During autumn 1944, a group of GI’s are appointed from their quiet position at the Westwall to the front at the Siegfriedlinie in Belgium. The Germans are totally superior in reference to force level and firepower and could break through the lines of the GI’s without any effort. To evade the following attack the GI’s outflank the Germans by making them believe that the allied lines are filled with enormous troops though that they won’t attack. Especially the peculiar dare-devil Reese, who was abased as officer candidate because a murder under drunkenness, attracts attention with a suicidal attack at a german machine-gun position. Afterwards, the man begin to doubt, if they can keep their camouflage up until their backing arrive. Reese now tries on his own to help the men breaking through the lines before the bluff leaks out.
