plot synopsis:
Because of the “Aryan Paragraph” from 1908, it was forbidden for Jews living in Austria to be part of a sports club. That is why Jewish sports clubs were founded in Austria. The biggest throughout Europe was Hakoah Vienna. It was most famous for ist women’s swimming squad which dominated the Austrian championchips. The club was asked by the Austrian authorities to send swimmers to the 1936 Olympics but the club refused to do so. After the annexation of Austria by Germany the members of the club were evacuated. Today they are living in places all over the world. The director of this documentary interviews them and also arranges a reunion in their former swimming pool in Vienna.
