plot synopsis:
Major Otto Hecht, an anti-Nazi German presides over a World War II POW camp in Greece. The prisoners, plan an escape with a group of Greek partisans. Together they destroy several German supply facilities, but their primary target is an ineffable treasure hidden in a monastery at the top of the island's mountain. Althought Hecht, an antiques-loving officer, turns out to be their unlikely ally their mission remains dangerous.
