plot synopsis:
19-year-old soldier Billy Lynn and his comrades return to the United States highly decorated as veterans after their deployment in the Iraq War, where they survived a fierce firefight. There, they are sent on a nationwide victory tour across the country, which includes parades and other festivities where they are celebrated as national heroes. The main backdrop of the movie is the combat unit's participation in an elaborately staged football halftime show. During the preparation leading up to the climax of the show, Billy Lynn regularly relives memories of the deployment and meeting his family on his return. His sister Kathryn plays a special role in this, as she tries to dissuade her brother from returning to war. During the climax of the show, the viewer learns the entire events of the mission that made Billy and his comrades war heroes and in which they lost a sergeant. After the football game, Billy decides to go back to war with his comrades, against his sister's wishes. (Source: Wikipedia)
