plot synopsis:

A young soldiers is one of the very few survivors after a Japanese attack on his unit. He is celebrated as a hero and starts, once he is back home, to recrute and train new soldiers. He falls in love and marries a young girl named Peggy. When he returns to the front, he becomes aware of how much his life has changed.
