plot synopsis:
A platoon American paratroopers is dropped into the Burmese jungle. Their mission: to destroy a Japanese Radarstation. The tight-lipped captain Nelson leads his men through the jungle to their target. Member of their group is journalist Mark Williams who is looking for some first-hand experience for a combat story. The raid is successful, the radarstation destroyed. Now the men have get back to their rendezvous for pickup. When they reach the clearing they are ambushed by the Japanese. As they struggle to get to their second meeting point, the Japanese are still on their heels.

remarks:
In Great Britain the film was banned only one week after it had come to the cinemas. Critics objected to the major role the film attributed to U.S. forces while omitting that of the British. British audiences had to wait until 1952 when "Obejective Burma!" was allowed back on British screens.
